We have internet!
News, news, news! We now have the internet. It has been oh so long since any communication besides the good ole radio has been broadcast in our home. Yes- we have a home! Tons of news.

Yeahhh!!!
It is the little things in life that make me a happy girl. I have a new phone finally. I had to buy a new one cause my cheap flip phone broke into (in two?) with a little help from Olivia but mainly me dropping it 300+X. But the main reason that I am excited is that Jared is finally coming home. He has managed to come home with major jetlag from Taiwan, pack up most of our stuff (what he didn't sell, just kidding), clean our apartment, and move it on out! Whoohooo He is traveling right now- Shreveport area, please pray- and will make it tomorrow to Miami. I am very thankful to him and ready to see him after 1 whole month. I told him I was ready for babies but I think it is that I am just lonely. Is that considered 'oversharing'? Thanks for all of your support on the Jared-selling-my-stuff issue. I think I need to start a Wives of Thrify Husbands Anonymous.
BTW: If I don't call you for awhile, it is my broken phone's fault. Call me sometime so I'll have your number again.

It's been awhile
I have been in Slaton for 3ish weeks and I am ready to see Jared. He is home safely in Forida and is reluctantly moving the rest of our things. He is actually trying to sell my things. I was not mad about it. I actually thought it was funny and then he told me the price he was going to get for specific items and I was hurt deeply that he thought my possessions were so worthless. Fortunatly I caught him before they were out the door and nothing was lost. I guess next move I'll have to take inventory. Anyway I (the fam) went to Pampa to look at houses to buy and saw some that I really liked. We actually have no idea where we are going to live because I still do not have a job and it will depend on that. Same song I seem to sing. I don't have pictures and nothing interesting has happened but I will keep you posted on the goings on in the Neighbors' world.

Isn't it fun to learn so much about me?
You Are Thanksgiving |
You are a bit of a homebody who enjoys being in the company of people you love. It doesn't take a lot to make you happy. You're enjoying life as it is. You have many blessings in your life, and you are grateful for each one. You believe that life is about what you *do* have. You feel like you have enough of the good stuff. What makes you celebrate: Family, friends, and the changing of the seasons. At holiday get togethers, you do best as: The host of the party On a holiday, you're the one most likely to: Spend so much energy preparing that it's a full time job |
I agree with it all except that the last 2 paragraphs are so not me. Please do not make me host Thanksgiving! Give me about 10 more years to learn about turkey. And BTW I never really "go all out" on anything-except for sleep.

Tomorrow!
Jared is finally coming home tomorrow! I am so excited. He's been gone for 12 days but has only been home 1 day in the past 24 days.
Taylor and Summer are also coming tomorrow. They are in route right now. Also excited about that.

I found some
I found some pictures that I had not shared. Since Kara won't ever update her blog, you can now see some updated pictures of my little Olivia. I took these when the girls came to see me in May.

Getting Tired
Are you getting tired of post after post with no pictures? Well it is because I really don't have any cool pictures. Jared has been gone for 8 days and won't be back for 5 more. Ugh. I have managed to claen the house and cook dinner for some friends though. He would be proud.
We officially have the "Newest Neighbors" to congratulate into this world! Carter Michael Neighbors was born June 17 at 10 something am. Baby and mother are doing well. Yeah, Noah has a brother!

I should be doing anything but this right now...
I am addicted to looking at my blog. I think it is the avoidance thing- that I have tons of stuff to do right now.
We are moving to Miami. The Texas one. Yes- this is where Jared grew up and where Taylor used to be the Youth Director. The two events are unrelated in a related sort of way. Jared will be the head girl's basketball coach. Should that be capitalized??? Anyway I am looking for a job teaching my precious special children in the area. In the meantime, I am teaching summer school and Jared is in Jamaica for 12 days. We have two sets of people that are coming to visit us in the next few weeks and I am trying to get as much beach in as I can so if I don't answer tomorrow, you know where I am. Miss you and can't wait to come home!

Funny Story- kinda
So if you know the Neighbors very well, you know that the men in the family have a tendency to pass out. In the short time that I have known my husband, he's already passed out while getting his eyes dialated. This particular time, he hit his head on a desk and received a small concussion because of it. Anyway- he turned out to be fine. Moving on... In a previous post, I mentioned our friend Ronnie Gilmore who had a motorcycle accident. Jared had been in the Amarillo area for the past week, so we decided that he needed to go visit our friend. Well at about 4:00 my friend Tammy called me and asked if I had talked to my husband lately, I told her that it had been a few hours and she proceeded to tell me the story of how Jared got rushed to the ER because he passed out and had a seizure in Ronnie's hospital room. Scary. So after I tried to get a hold of Andrew and then got Taylor to leave his job early at Boy's Ranch to check on Jared, I called Allyson. Allyson is the nurse in the family who everyone goes to for medical advice. While I was telling her the story, she started laughing hysterically. When a medical person starts laughing, you know there is nothing to worry about! Whew. Anyway she told me a funny story about Matthew and how it looks like they are having a seizure but really aren't. By this time, Jared called and told me that he looked like an 80 year old because he was stuck in a wheel chair with oxygen in his nose. I told him what Allyson said and he walked straight out of the ER.
Moral of the story: please do not show Jared pictures of gory things and when he says he is about to pass out- he means it!

Bad Things Happen in 3s
I hate to be so negative but here are a few opportunities for you to pray for (besides my Uncle Bill who is doing better)...
1) Our dear friend Ronnie Gilmore had a bad motorcycle accident. He has several broken bones: legs, ribs, and collar bone. He is in stable condition in Amarillo.
2) A 7 yr old student in my class with severe Autism had an accident at home over the weekend where he got severly burned. 45% of his body was burned and 40% of that was 3rd degree. He will be in the hospital in Augusta, GA for 2 months. He also is in stable condition.
3) A bus traveling to Pensacola today with a bunch of 3rd graders from a school in our town had an accident and flipped. No one died but a lot of adults and kids were injured.
Another negative thing... Teachers are interviewing for my job at school. I was hired without a contract knowing that next year I might not have my job but it is surreal when people are in your classroom observing your position.
Knowing that God is in all of this is comforting to me. I know that He has a plan for all of these people effected by all of this mess and that He will use it to His glory.

Shout Out
Jared is talking to his brother on the phone right now and it reminded me that him and the girls are coming to visit us in July! I am sooooo excited to have them come so we can have some girly excursions. I am in dire need of hanging out with the girls. Oh yeah- my brother and his bride are coming the week before and can't wait to see them either. Lovin' the fam.

Spring Break
We went to Fairfield Glade, TN for Spring Break and to celebrate our Anniversary. It was very serene. We played golf- I came out of retirement for this event. We both stunk it up but at least we did together. We would actually do fabulous in a scramble. I got to see my favorite horse girl Megan. She lives in Nashville. There was really not a lot to do there so we played on the kiddie rides.

Spring Foliage
We went to Tennessee for Spring Break and I took these pictures of the pretty spring blossoms. It actually felt like Fall as we were traveling because it was chilly and there were hardly any leaves on the tress. They did have tons of lilac bushes there and it reminded me of Mamia's- and of course Jessica looting the cemetery on the eve of our wedding per my mother's directions!

Our Schedule
We have had a wonderful last few months! Kara and Olivia came to visit. I did not take many pictures because I was too busy using the camcorder. We went to the Gulfarium, picked strawberries, and went to the beach. We had a great time and Olivia got to see her wonderful aunt that misses her like crazy. Next up is a trip to the Destin jetties where we will be diving next Saturday. Afterthat we will head to Panama City with some friends to dive there. I am going to Las Vegas to marry off my friend Hannah while Jared goes home to do his basketball camp. We actually have school until June 6th- teachers until the 9th. I am teaching summer school so I will stay busy when Jared is gone. He is going to Texas, Jamaica, and then to Asia. (No I am not going with him to any of those places.) My vacation will be in Slaton, TEXAS and I can't wait!

Certified!
Jared and I finished our Open Water Diver class. We are now certified in Scuba and can go diving whenever we want. Yesterday was rough. After the first dive, Jared and I both asked each other, "What are we doing?" I didn't have enough weight and couldn't go down while I watched everyone I knew descend into the abyss. Well it turned out ok once we got the weight thing figured out. Jared had problems equalizing and couldn't get his fins under control. We were a mess. After the 2nd and 3rd dives yesterday we got everything figured out and even went 45ft and stood on the brink of a cave system. Jared saw an eel and the instructor was bummed that I didn't get to see it but I told him that that was definitely ok!
Today was awesome. We had to walk about a mile today in soft sand with 28pounds of weights plus our gear which probably totals 50pounds. (not awesome) When we got to the jetty, we were able to descend, finish our drills, and go hunt sand dollars and shells. Jared uses so much air so we didn't get to spend a lot of time collecting stuff but I will post pictures of our loot. One of the guys in our group was tormenting me with a crab and found this dead fish skeleton that he was waving around. Boys ugh. So anywho we are certified and are so pumped about being able to go explore.

We Passed!
Jared and I spent 8 hours in the water today. We spent 8 hours learning about scuba yesterday. It was brutal but so interesting. We are on brain overload right now and very water logged. So today we spent all day in the pool learning about our gear, bouyancy, and what to do in case of emergencies. There were 5 total in the class. The other 3 were Marines; needless to say, I had the most difficulties. It made me want to go workout because with 15lbs. of weight in my weight belt, I sometimes struggled with staying down. It was the coolest bonding experience because Jared and I were buddies and we just had to understand what was going on with the other person with only a few signals. Soooo coool. Next Saturday we will go to a spring and dive there and then on Sunday we are off to the gulf to get some sand dollars. Today we only got downto 6 feet in the pool and I felt very cramped in there. I am sure that's the only time I'll feel cramped. I am sure I will have dreams about breathing underwater now because of how unnatural that feeling is. I'll get back to you next weekend.

That feels good.
Finally updated on pictures. I have been so busy at school and when I come home, I go straight to Jazzercise. Our lives are crazy but here you go. I have a few more pictures to post. One of Megan and one of Jared in his scuba gear and some of our vaycay.

Spring Break
Two of Jared's former players brought a bunch of guys to our house for Spring Break. This was the only time that I saw them. Preston (2rd from left), Jordan (5th from left), and their friends from A&M took us out to dinner one night. They were all so nice and there were 7 girls that stayed somewhere else but were in their group too. That night the girls called me 'Mom'- weird.

Jared's Team
Jared's team did a great job of improving this year. He was very happy to work with these girls to build their program. They won their first game of the district tournament before being beaten by the state semi-finalists! Go Lady Knights
